An Oklahoma Thanksgiving!

We were so excited to get to go to Oklahoma for Thanksgiving.  As soon as our church services were over, we loaded up and headed to see family!  We weren't sure how Colson would do because when we moved here, we did the trip in 2 days.  However, he did absolutely AMAZING!  We made the trip in 9 hours with stops.  Colson never cried or complained once.  He got rewarded with plenty of movie watching, snacks and getting to play on our phones!  We wrapped some new movies for him to open on the way.  He loved those surprises!

Once we made it to Oklahoma, Colson got to enjoy playing with Oma and PawPaw, Libby and Jenna, Nanny and PawPaw, Cooper and Carson, Charity, and lots and lots of other family!

We got to spend Thanksgiving day with both sides of the family and had so much fun!  It was great visiting with everyone and of course, eating the yummy food!  Here is Colson with his cousins, Grayson, Cooper and Carson eating Thanksgiving dinner!  So cute!

We made the trek back to Mississippi on Friday, so we could have a day to recover on Saturday, then Caleb led worship on Sunday!  We had a busy, but extremely fun-filled week!  God has given us so much to be thankful for!

Colson's First Movie

The Friday before Thanksgiving, we decided to take Colson to see his very first movie in the theater, Happy Feet 2!!  He was so excited to see the penguins!  We got the theater, got our tickets, popcorn and drink, then headed in for the big event!!!

Colson LOVED the movie!  He watched most of it, but he did get a little restless towards the end and decided it would be fun to walk up and down the stairs and say,"Ladies and Gentlemen" really loud!!  Oh well, he is two, so that is to be expected!  We had such a fun day!

What We Have Been Up To......

Hello everyone!  We have been enjoying nice weather for the most part here in Mississippi!  Colson is doing well at school and got to attend his Thanksgiving feast today!  They wore cute little vests made out of grocery bags.  His favorite foods at the feast were strawberries and blueberries.  They also had turkey, cheese, dressing, sweet potato pie, and a cute turkey cookie for dessert!

Caleb is doing an incredible job leading our church in worship.  He works so hard to pursue excellence, and when Sundays come around, you can tell how hard he has worked to prepare.  He has such a gift for leading people to the throne.  I, personally, am enjoying having him as my worship leader!  This picture was taken a few weeks ago.  It was his first Sunday to lead worship here!  We feel incredibly blessed that God allows us to serve Him!

Sorry the picture is so far away!  I must have taken this with my phone!  Hopefully, you get the gist!!!)

As Thanksgiving approaches, we have SO much to thank God for!  We cannot wait to spend some time giving thanks with our precious family next week!!!!!!!!

Fall Fun 2011

We have enjoyed so many fun Fall activities here in Mississippi!  On Saturday, October 29, we went to explore the Nichols-Boyd Pumpkin Patch.  We got to ride on a hayride pulled by an antique tractor.  We stopped to see the farm animals along the way, then we went to the Pumpkin Patch to choose our pumpkins.  There were also some fun games and activities out by the pumpkins, like a rope swing, a hay maze and a corn box (like a sand box, expect filled with corn).  Colson and Caleb both took a turn on the swing!  It was so much fun!!

On Halloween, we went to our new friends' house to meet up with some other friends to eat chili and have a fun time trick-or-treating!  Colson was Spiderman, and once he got the hang of trick-or-treating, there was no stopping him!  He has a blast going from house to house collecting candy!

Caleb is loving his new position as Worship Pastor.  He has done an incredible job leading worship at church the past 2 Sundays.  Colson loves his class and worshipping with other preschoolers in large group.  The past Sunday I (Brittni) began volunteering in the preschool ministry.  It is definitely a change from student ministry, but I had a great time and know that is where God wants me to serve.

We have had so many wonderful people make us feel so welcome here.  We are so grateful that God has put them in our path!  We met with our adult small group Sunday night and had a blast!  One of the couples has a little girl two weeks younger than Colson, and they really hit it off!  They had so much fun running around the restaurant together!!  Everyone in our small group was so sweet and really made us feel welcome and part of the group right off!

Today was Colson's first day at his Mother's Morning Out.  After a rough start, he did great!  His teachers said he did wonderful all morning.  He was not wanting to stay when I dropped him off, but by the time I picked him up, he was very excited and ready to go back next week!  I am glad we found a great place for him to go to school!

We are slowly but surely adjusting to life here in Mississippi!  We are looking forward to going back to Oklahoma to visit family over Thanksgiving!!

Thank You, Lord, for being so faithful to us!  You never leave us alone and walk beside us every step of the way.  You have provided for so much for us while we are here and away from family!  Thank You for being such an amazing God!!
